Michael Beckerich '72 makes list of Irish business leaders

A Piermont man has been named to Irish America magazine's list of the top Irish-American businesspeople in the U.S.

Michael P. Beckerich, 58, who runs York Analytical Laboratories in Stratford, Conn., is listed in the magazine's January issue as one of the Business 100.

York Analytical provides analysis of water, soil and air samples for regulated contaminants. The company serves the tri-state area.

"All of our Business 100 share one thing in common - pride in their Irish heritage," the magazine says. "The accomplishments of the men and women on our list are immense."

One of York's projects is to analyze the water in the Hudson River for jet fuel pollution following last week's emergency landing in the river by a US Airways plane.

Irish America magazine's list also includes Bronxville resident James J. Houlihan, managing partner of Houlihan-Parnes/iCap Realty Advisors LLC and a founding member of national real estate company iCap Realty Advisors, and Lawrence Flanagan, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Purchase-based MasterCard Worldwide.
